Instructional Assistant

Instructional Assistant position at Amethod Public Schools, assisting students under the direction of a certified teacher, promoting a safe and appropriate learning environment, and supporting teachers in implementing lesson plans.

Requirements

• Monitors individual and groups of students for a safe environment
• Assists teachers and parents in implementing lesson plans
• Performs record keeping and basic clerical functions
• Maintains classroom equipment and supplies
• Assists teacher in supervision of students during emergency drills and field trips
• Administers tests and participates in various meetings
• Contacts parents if requested by the teacher or administrator
• Must possess organization, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Must pass a DOJ background check
• Must be willing to create and follow through with individualized professional development plan
• Ability to demonstrate skills in development of academic activities
• Strong administrative and organizational skills
• High level of communication skills, both written and oral
• Strong initiative and ability to solve problems
