Principal Structural Engineer

Amey is a leading provider of full life-cycle engineering, operations and decarbonisation solutions, and is seeking a Principal Structural Engineer to join their Amey Consulting Structures team in Scotland and across the UK. The role involves technical leadership, design management, commercial oversight, client and supplier liaison, bid preparation, people management, and sustainable solutions development.

Requirements

• Chartered Civil or Structural Engineer (ICE/IStructE)
• Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
• Comprehensive understanding of CDM and risk assessment
• Knowledge of relevant codes and standards such as DMRB and Eurocodes
• Expertise in design and specification processes
• Excellent oral communication skills
• Ability to resolve interface clashes and manage discipline-specific interfaces
• Strong supervisory and people management skills
• Extensive experience with highway structures and / or major bridges
• Proficiency in software such as Lusas or Midas
