Laboratory Analyst

The Laboratory Technician will carry out analysis according to the section work plan, follow accredited methods, and ensure all expectations associated with the submitted samples are met.

Requirements

• Carry out analysis according to the section work plan
• Follow accredited methods of analysis as detailed in the quality manual
• Prioritize analysis according to customer requirements
• Ensure all expectations associated with the submitted samples are met
• Participate in out of hours standby rota
• Ensure that exceedances and unusual results are reported in accordance with company procedures
• Document actions taken with flagged results
• Where necessary confirmation of the original analysis
• Ensure maintenance records for the methods used are kept up to date
• Ensure reagent records detail all changes, fresh stocks etc.
• Ensure that analytical method is kept up to date with correct analytical practice
• Stock maintenance and ensuring deliveries are dealt with appropriately
• Maintenance of local stock control records to ensure the viability of analytical methods
• Responding to service requests
• General admin to support the team
• Responsible for disposal of waste in line with procedures
