The Laboratory Technician will carry out analysis according to the section work plan, follow accredited methods, and ensure all expectations associated with the submitted samples are met.
Requirements
- Carry out analysis according to the section work plan
- Follow accredited methods of analysis as detailed in the quality manual
- Prioritize analysis according to customer requirements
- Ensure all expectations associated with the submitted samples are met
- Participate in out of hours standby rota
- Ensure that exceedances and unusual results are reported in accordance with company procedures
- Document actions taken with flagged results
- Where necessary confirmation of the original analysis
- Ensure maintenance records for the methods used are kept up to date
- Ensure reagent records detail all changes, fresh stocks etc.
- Ensure that analytical method is kept up to date with correct analytical practice
- Stock maintenance and ensuring deliveries are dealt with appropriately
- Maintenance of local stock control records to ensure the viability of analytical methods
- Responding to service requests
- General admin to support the team
- Responsible for disposal of waste in line with procedures
