Metering Technician

The Metering Technician will complete meter reading related operations, maintain accurate records, and ensure maximum efficiency and productivity. They will identify and report any maintenance jobs, meter exchanges, and potential leaks, and liaise with customers as appropriate.

Requirements

• Ensure all meters are read accurately
• Maintain accurate records
• Ensure maximum efficiency and productivity

• Liaise with customers as appropriate
• Complete non-routine reading and income-related operations
• Conduct flow tests to confirm correct supply connections
• Replace lids
• Complete void inspections
• Confirm correct plots to postal addresses
• Complete meter exchange operations efficiently and cost-effectively
• Ensure all work completed on the network meets necessary regulations
• Ensure new and old meters are tracked and sufficient stocks are held
• Comply with all elements of health and safety regulations
• Ensure the health and safety of themselves and the public
• Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers
• Contribute positively to enhanced team and cross-team working
• Improve their own performance through identifying and seeking opportunities for self-development
