Job Description
The Anthony L Jordan Health Corporation, a Federally Qualified Health Center established in 1904, is seeking a WIC Peer Counselor to improve breastfeeding support within its WIC programs. This position involves enhancing breastfeeding initiation, promoting community awareness, and facilitating communication with diverse families, with the support of a supervising WIC Breastfeeding Director/Peer Counselor Supervisor. Requirements
- Improve breastfeeding initiation and duration rates.
- Increase community breastfeeding awareness.
- Communicate well with a diverse community.
- Stay current on breastfeeding research.
- Develop participate centered breastfeeding materials.
- Perform related task as directed by supervisor.
- Document BF contacts, attempts and referrals within NYWIC system.
- Maintain caseload of assigned prenatal and breastfeeding participants.
- Provide contact sheets to BF Director.
