DFX Engineer III

We are seeking a DFX Engineer III to join our team at Applied Materials in Bangalore, India. The successful candidate will have intermediate knowledge of DFx best practices and be able to incorporate them to optimize product cost, quality, and manufacturing cycle time. The role will involve analyzing medium complex designs, soliciting input from suppliers, and participating in cross-functional teams to develop manufacturability and assembly-related BKMs.

Requirements

• Intermediate knowledge of DFx best practices
• Ability to analyze medium complex designs
• Intermediate knowledge of ITO principles
• Understanding of shipping/cargo restrictions and proper labeling
• Ability to interpret and apply GD&T callouts
• Hands-on experience with tolerance stack-up analysis
• Collaborative mindset to work with design, manufacturing, quality, and suppliers
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to communicate complex information and build consensus
• Experience with AI prompt engineering techniques and integrating AI tools into engineering workflows
