The Chief Electrician plays a critical role in ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of drilling rig electrical systems.
Requirements
- 10 years in onshore or offshore drilling operation with 3 Years as Chief Electrician
- Strong understanding of electrical principles, applications, and safety protocols in hazardous environments.
- Proven experience in leading and motivating a team of electrical technicians.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and execute electrical projects efficiently.
- Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (SAP) (a plus).
- Good knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), Field Devices (FD), network communication types and troubleshooting.
- Proficiency in computer software, computer hardware, and drilling electrical equipment.
- Ability to use electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Familiarity with cable size international standards and the ability to perform basic power calculations.
- Strong knowledge of drilling equipment and rig operations.
