The Rig Safety & Training Coordinator plays a critical role in promoting a safe and healthy work environment on drilling rigs. They are responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring safety programs, conducting safety training for rig personnel, and ensuring compliance with all relevant safety regulations and company policies.
Requirements
- 5 years of experience in rigs including 2 years of experience in safety or training roles.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations, industry standards, and best practices applicable to oil and gas drilling operations.
- Proven experience in developing, implementing, and evaluating safety programs.
- Excellent training and development skills, including the ability to design and deliver effective safety training sessions.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct safety audits and inspections, identify hazards, and recommend corrective actions.
- Experience in investigating safety incidents and implementing corrective measures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with rig personnel at all levels, supervisors, and regulatory bodies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to continuous learning and improvement in safety practices.
