The Assistant Vice President will manage and mentor a team responsible for financial reporting and accounting for the Travel and Accident & Disability business units. This role will focus on the close process, P&L, MD&A, and other financial information. The individual will have a high level of interaction with operating executives and other members of the finance teams throughout the organization.
Requirements
- Manage the quarterly close process, including premium, loss, acquisition costs, preparation of Profit and Loss reporting, Balance Sheet Reconciliations, MD&A’s, and all other financial information used by the company in managing and analyzing our books of business.
- Manage a team of two onshore resources and oversight of three offshore resources.
- Work closely with other departments to ensure set-up of current and new business activities is accurate and efficient.
- Take part in special projects, including testing and implementation of new systems, process improvements (including early close issues) and data quality initiatives.
- Will have extensive interaction with various departments/disciplines at the group, including other areas in finance, actuarial, legal, reinsurance, claims and IT.
