Job Description
Veterans Engineering seeks a Biomedical Equipment Technician to ensure the reliability and functionality of networked medical equipment. The ideal candidate has a strong technical background, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to patient care. Responsibilities include preventive and corrective maintenance, incoming inspections, medical device security, cybersecurity, network maintenance, equipment installations, and software repairs.
Requirements
- Two-year associate degree or higher in an applied science or equivalent military training
- Minimum of three years of hospital or healthcare experience performing medical equipment maintenance
- Current and advanced knowledge of computer virus protection software, available software patches and upgrades, information security tools, electronics, computers and network theory
- Experience with Cerner electronic health record (EHR) systems and integration
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical literature, schematics, and drawings
