Job Description
Join athenahealth as a Lead Network Engineer to resolve complex network issues and contribute to design, upgrades, and capacity planning in a multi-vendor, global environment. Key responsibilities include troubleshooting, vendor coordination, and leadership during major incidents.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 10+ years of professional experience in network engineering, including production 24x7 environments
- Proven expertise in Wireless implementation, operations, and troubleshooting (Aruba preferred)
- Strong multi-vendor background: Juniper, Aruba, Palo Alto (+GlobalProtect), Dell SONiC, VeloCloud
- Experience with firewall, VPN, and security technologies (Palo Alto strongly preferred)
- Familiarity with public and private cloud networking
- Working knowledge of Linux OS networking stack troubleshooting
- Understanding of structured cabling standards and physical layer troubleshooting
