Software Engineer, Map Health and Validation

Aurora is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their Offline Mapping Team, focused on developing high-definition maps for the Aurora Driver. This role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable backend systems for map evaluation, issue resolution, and data integration. The team collaborates with multiple departments to ensure robust system performance and data quality, enabling safe and efficient autonomous driving.

Requirements

• BS/MS or PhD in Computer Science, Robotics or a related field
• 4+ years of industry experience building software in a production environment
• Proficiency with developing backend systems (gRPC, SQL databases) using Python
• Experience with software design, in particular in complex systems with many dependencies
• Ability to collaborate effectively in a cross-functional team environment
