Avalere Health is seeking a Principal, Policy (IRA) to join their policy practice. The ideal candidate will have a focus on Inflation Reduction Act Analytics and a passion for generating creative solutions to complex problems. The role involves developing and leading analytics-driven products, advising life science clients on drug pricing reforms, and building proprietary analytic tools and methodologies.
Requirements
- A degree in health policy, public policy, healthcare management, public health, public administration, economics, business administration, or a relevant discipline.
- Significant experience quantitatively analyzing policy proposals, legislation, and/or regulation and conveying findings to clients and the public.
- Sophisticated understanding of how policy changes and proposals at the federal and state level will impact key business metrics across the healthcare stakeholders.
- Experience overseeing and supervising work of staff members.
- Proven situational leadership skills and the ability to motivate and generate enthusiasm with individuals across all levels of the organization.
- Exemplary interpersonal skills that translate into positive relationships with colleagues and clients.
- Commitment to working in a team environment with an emphasis on collaboration and maintaining positive relationships with colleagues and clients.
- Outstanding problem-solving and analytic skills with the ability to interpret and communicate complex analytic project methodologies and findings internally and to clients.

- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, including PowerPoint, Excel, Teams and Word.
- Experience Requirements: 10 + years of relevant work experience, including employment by a biotech or health insurance company, relevant trade group, advocacy organization, Capitol Hill, the executive branch, or a professional advisory services firm.
- Prior experience working with Medicare claims and conducting quantitative analysis.
- Deep knowledge of Medicare Part D, Medicare Part B and the landscape of physician-administered drugs, economics of provider payment for physician-administered drugs, the 340B Program, Inflation Reduction Act, and other key drug pricing reform policies.
