Job Description
B&W Chanute is seeking a highly motivated and career-minded nondestructive testing professional to fill an immediate opening within our Chanute location. This full-time position will be supported with a competitive benefits package and a rewarding career development program.
Requirements
- Set up and calibrate nondestructive testing equipment
- Perform ultrasonic inspection of pressure members in accordance with current editions of ASME standards
- Conduct tests to ensure quality or detect discontinuities using NDT methods of inspection
- Establish techniques for proper examination of objects under inspection, ensuring strict adherence to safety regulations
- Apply testing criteria in accordance with applicable specifications or standards and evaluate results
- Organize and report test results
- Perform specialized inspections
- Supervise and instruct other technicians when necessary
- Able to handle other methods of inspection such as MT & PT in either a laboratory or field setting
- Perform Level II UT Shear wave responsibilities
- Classification of flaws, sizing of flaws and the ability to plot and locate flaws
