The Per Diem Registered Nurse will work closely with the clinical and administrative teams in Health Services to provide high quality, student-centered care for summer programs and as part of the year-round Per Diem RN pool for Student Health Services.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing Program.
- A minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, 5 years preferred.
- Must hold a current RN license in the State of Massachusetts and be CPR certified.
- Must have Hepatitis B vaccination and training in compliance with OSHA regulations; must maintain both throughout time in the position.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work effectively with students, parents, and staff from diverse backgrounds.
- Demonstrated passion for adolescent and college health, including understanding of student development.
- Ability to multitask and remain flexible in a busy clinical setting.
- Must have knowledge of state immunization laws and experience with administering vaccines, medications and medical treatments.
- Must have experience with electronic medical records and scheduling-preferably Medicat EMR.
- Ability to work with a diverse population.
- Ability to envision and propose new methods to perform tasks that support ET&A; take thoughtful risks; and accept new and ongoing initiatives, objectives, and solutions to gain sought-after results.
- Ability to anticipate and embrace change; demonstrate willingness to achieve, acquire, and utilize new skills and challenging tasks.
- Must have strong computer skills such as Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
- BSN preferred.
- Knowledge of Massachusetts Immunization Information System (MIIS) a plus.
- Phlebotomy and point of care testing experience a plus.
- Experience with Medicat electronic record system a plus.
- Travel health experience a plus.
- Experience with diabetes management including routine monitoring and patient education.
