The Per Diem Registered Nurse will provide high quality, student-centered care for summer programs and as part of the year-round Per Diem RN pool for Student Health Services. Responsibilities include providing telephone and in person triage, administering immunizations and other injectable medications, and assisting with prescription refills and laboratory results.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing Program.
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, 5 years preferred.
- Current RN license in the State of Massachusetts and CPR certification.
- Hepatitis B vaccination and training in compliance with OSHA regulations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively with students, parents, and staff from diverse backgrounds.
- Demonstrated passion for adolescent and college health, including understanding of student development.
- Ability to multitask and remain flexible in a busy clinical setting.
- Knowledge of state immunization laws and experience with administering vaccines, medications and medical treatments.
- Experience with electronic medical records and scheduling, preferably Medicat EMR.
- Ability to work with a diverse population.
- Ability to envision and propose new methods to perform tasks that support ET&A; take thoughtful risks; and accept new and ongoing initiatives, objectives, and solutions to gain sought-after results.
- Ability to anticipate and embrace change; demonstrate willingness to achieve, acquire, and utilize new skills and challenging tasks.
- Strong computer skills such as Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
