Inventory Controller

Backblaze is seeking an Inventory Controller to join their team, responsible for overseeing processes and procedures in data center operations, inventory management, and logistics. The role involves working with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and vendors to optimize inventory capabilities and develop best practices.

Requirements

• Proficient in the use of Warehouse Management Systems (NetSuite-WMS)
• Maintains inventory minimums and maximums across all business units
• Coordinates all logistics related to shipping and receiving activities for Data Center Operations
• Follows established processes and procedures related to projects
• Works as directed by organizational leaders
• Typically responsible for a single data center
• Creates and maintains support documentation for inventory-related items
• Trains DC operations support staff and others on correct processes and procedures
• Collaborates with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to identify and prioritize initiatives to optimize inventory capabilities and develop best practices
• Frequently works with outside auditors to reconcile inventory quantities and reinforce approved procedures
• Engages with vendors to improve supply chain processes and reduce cost
• Facilitates inventory planning, scheduling, forecasting, and control operations
• Implements inventory tools and systems for shipping, receiving, tracking, analyzing, auditing, and reporting
• Researches and recommends alternate inventory items to meet the changing needs of data center operations
