Job Description
The Line & Grade Instrument Man II provides expertise in using surveying equipment to ensure accurate layout of projects. Coordinates with teams to identify improvement ideas and contributes to effective project management. Supports safety on the project by perpetuating the IIF culture.
Requirements
- High School Diploma and 4 years’ construction experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Must have 2 years’ experience as an Line & Grade Instrument Man I
- Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers and regulatory agencies
- Good listening skills
- Ability to work within a team environment
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume; understanding of geometry and trigonometry
- Knowledge of industry tolerances
- Working knowledge in the use of the coordinate system
- Ability to work harmoniously, respectfully and effectively with subordinates, peers, supervisors and clients
- Team player, who provides information to the workforce, resolves conflict, and provides feedback
- Ability to direct work
