Job Description
We are currently looking for a qualified and experienced Chief Engineer for an upcoming assignment on a General Cargo vessel. As Chief Engineer, you will be responsible for the overall operation, maintenance, and performance of all engineering systems onboard the vessel.
Requirements
- Supervise, maintain, and operate main propulsion and auxiliary machinery
- Ensure safe and efficient operation of all engineering systems onboard
- Conduct regular inspections, diagnostics, and maintenance planning
- Maintain up-to-date records, engine logs, and reports
- Monitor fuel and lubricant consumption and optimize efficiency
- Ensure compliance with international and company safety/environmental policies
- Supervise engine room staff and delegate tasks accordingly
- Coordinate with ships Master and other departments during operations
