Loading Operator

BASF is hiring a Loading Operator in Geismar, LA. The job involves operating pumps, valves, and hoses to transfer liquids or gases into storage tanks, trucks, or railcars while following strict safety and environmental regulations. The position works a 12-hour rotating shift schedule and requires a high school diploma or equivalent and at least 6 months of experience in chemical loading or a related industrial environment.

Requirements

• Safely load and unload chemical products into tanker trucks and railcars
• Inspect hoses, pumps, and valves before use to ensure equipment is safe and functional
• Accurately document product volumes, lot numbers, and shipping details
• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on loading equipment
• Wear and maintain required personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Work with other supervisors and other operators to coordinate schedules and minimize downtime
• Respond effectively in emergencies and participate in safety drills
