Job Description
Basis is seeking a Research Scientist to lead efforts in developing a deeper understanding of intelligence in AI systems. The role focuses on modeling, abstraction, and reasoning in AI, aiming to replicate human-like problem-solving abilities in machines. MARA is developing foundational AI methods and exploring interactive experimentation to build systems that learn in an open, growing portfolio.
Requirements
- PhD in computer science, artificial intelligence, machine learning, cognitive science, or related field.
- Strong background in reinforcement learning, program synthesis, probabilistic programming, machine learning, AI reasoning systems, and cognitive modeling.
- Experience in developing AI systems that combine neural and symbolic methods.
- Interest in foundational AI research and its applications to modeling, abstraction, and reasoning.
- Published research or impactful software projects are highly valued.
