Sr Systems Engineer, DSP

Basis is seeking a Sr Systems Engineer, DSP to design, implement, and maintain highly available distributed infrastructure supporting the Basis DSP platform. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of hands-on experience in Systems Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, or Site Reliability Engineering and a strong understanding of system scalability and high availability architectures.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in Systems Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, or Site Reliability Engineering
• Strong Linux systems expertise (Debian, Ubuntu, CentOS or similar)
• Experience designing and operating large-scale distributed systems
• Experience with infrastructure automation and configuration management (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, SaltStack)
• Strong understanding of system scalability and high availability architectures
• Experience troubleshooting complex production issues across system, network, and application layers
• Programming or scripting experience (Python, Bash, or similar)
• Experience operating database systems (MySQL, MongoDB, Cassandra)
• Experience with monitoring, observability, and alerting systems
• Experience managing infrastructure in cloud environments (AWS, GCP) and on-premises
• Solid understanding of networking fundamentals and protocols
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
