The After School Program Instructor will provide a safe, supportive, and interactive learning environment for students, in alignment with the Expanded Learning Program's 12 quality standards. The ideal candidate is creative, energetic, and passionate about education and youth development.
Requirements
- Must have an Associate Degree or higher, or 48 college units, or pass the Instructional Aide exam
- Must pass a criminal background check and TB test clearance
- Must be able to work every day during after-school hours and commit to an academic school year
- Must have previous experience working with kids and the ability to independently lead and supervise up to 22 students
- Must be able to communicate openly, professionally, and maintain confidentiality at all times
- Must have basic technology & computer skills
- Will be expected to complete all mandated training
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds, and be capable of standing and walking for extended periods of time
- Ability to communicate effectively in English with students and families
- Basic English reading proficiency to support students' academic development
Benefits
- Pay rate: $23 - $26 an hour DOE
- Hours negotiated upon hiring (20 β 30 hours per week, depending on location and need)
