Benesch is hiring a full-time Bridge Inspection Team Lead to join our talented team and help make a difference in the communities across Benesch. This role will primarily conduct bridge inspections, prepare field inspection reports, and determine load capacity ratings.
Requirements
- Minimum 8 years related experience
- NBIS Certified Bridge Safety Inspector (CBSI), with up-to-date refresher training
- TxDOT precertification 6.1.1 Routine Bridge Inspection Team Leader or ability to obtain this precertification in near future
- CBSI Team Leader
- BSCE or related discipline preferred but not required
- EIT and plan to obtain Professional Engineer (PE) Registration preferred but not required
- Fracture Critical Inspection / Scour Evaluation training a plus
- SPRAT certification a plus
- Experience preparing reports for inspections, including iForms, BMS2, National Bridge Elements (NBE), etc.
- Familiarity with DOT Publications
- Bridge inspection assignments vary greatly, but physical requirements like climbing embankments and manipulating ladders should be expected
- Occasional overnight travel may be required
- Candidate should not be averse to working at heights or adjacent busy roadways
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Positive experience interacting with clients, agencies, and other project stakeholders
- Accustomed to working in a team environment on challenging projects
