Mental Health Intern - Adult Team Crook

BestCare is seeking a Mental Health Student Intern to develop clinical skills within a behavioral health setting. This internship bridges coursework with clinical experience, focusing on developing essential competencies such as diagnosis and treatment planning, therapy, and collaboration. Interns will participate in shadowing opportunities with the outpatient team and will be supervised by a designated Clinical Supervisor. The ideal candidate will demonstrate cultural sensitivity, strong communication skills, and a commitment to providing high-quality, safe, and ethical care.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a second-year master’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or marriage and family counseling.
• QMHA-I certification.
• Valid Oregon Driver's License or ability to obtain one.
• Minimum commitment for duration of internship and stable schedule with onsite supervisor.
• Demonstrated ability to learn basic competencies (assessment, treatment planning, psychotherapy, substance use disorders, suicide risk assessment) with willingness to learn more.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Adherence to program policies and procedures.
• Commitment to program scope of practice.
