Lead/Float Phlebotomist Greater Needham Area

Lead/Float Phlebotomist is responsible for maintaining adequate staffing levels and efficient workflow, providing training to phlebotomists, and acting as a technical resource for difficult blood draws. The role involves interacting with customers, communicating lab issues, and providing input for performance appraisals. Required qualifications include a high school diploma, registration phlebotomy certificate, and 1-3 years of related work experience.

Requirements

• Maintains adequate staffing levels and efficient, effective workflow and scheduling.
• Provides training to phlebotomists to ensure competency.
• Provides data input for the payroll system in the absence of Supervisor and Phlebotomy Leaders.
• Acts as a technical resource for all difficult Phlebotomy blood draws for the institution.
• Ensures rounds are completed as scheduled and provides assistance, as needed, to maintain timelines of routine and STAT blood draws.
• Communicates lab issues and problems to Clinical Supervisor/Clinical Manager and recommends resolution.
• On a daily basis, interacts and communicates with customers including patients, site office manager, physicians, and medical assistants.
• Shares on-call duties.
• Provides input for performance appraisals.
• Ensures 24/7 coverage for Inpatient Rounds.
