
Job description
The Pathology Technician performs core specimen accessioning, specimen reconciliation and validation, specimen handling and specimen/tissue processing tasks in accordance with established laboratory practice and standard operating procedure for anatomic pathology and cytology specimens.
Perform general laboratory maintenance duties, transport specimens, file specimen blocks and slides, handle and dispose of hazardous waste, maintain a clean work environment, and assist pathologists and other staff members.
This role requires strong communication and multitasking skills, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle stress. The ideal candidate will have an Associate degree in a chemical or biological science, or medical laboratory technology, and laboratory training or experience.
