The Senior Camp Mentor is a key leadership role within the Summer Camp team, responsible for leading a group of campers, mentoring Junior Camp Mentors and volunteers, and supporting the overall coordination and daily operations of the program.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience working in a summer camp or similar childcare/recreation setting
- Demonstrated experience in a leadership or senior staff role
- Strong ability to manage groups of children and handle behaviours confidently and professionally
- Experience communicating with parents/caregivers in a professional setting
- Post-secondary education in Child & Youth Care, Recreation, Education, or a related field (asset)
- Strong skills in one or more of the following areas: sports, arts, recreation, education, or health & nutrition
- Excellent leadership, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to mentor and support junior staff in a fast-paced environment
- Current First Aid & CPR (mandatory)
- Police Reference Check within the last 6 months (required prior to start date)
