The Recovery Coach plays a vital role in supporting patients with opioid use disorder by providing peer-based recovery support as part of the Bicycle Health care team. The Recovery Coach meets with clients on a regular basis, documents the visit, provides peer support and reviews recovery goals.
Requirements
- Minimum two years of experience as a peer recovery coach, peer support worker or addiction counselor.
- Minimum two years of experience in a medical practice or behavioral health field, including documentation within the electronic health record and close communication with providers.
- Personal experience with substance use disorder (SUD) treatment and recovery
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
- Exhibits cultural awareness and responsiveness
- Understanding of confidentiality requirements for the handling of client information
- Ability to practice self-care to maintain emotional and mental well-being while supporting individuals with complex needs
- Demonstrated ability to thrive in a multidisciplinary team
