We are seeking an IT Help Desk Technician I to join our team at BKF Engineers! The IT Help Desk Technician will provide front-line support for all IT-related issues and support the organization’s technology infrastructure. NOTE: This is a temporary position, anticipated to last six months in duration.
Requirements
- Serve as the first point of contact for users seeking technical assistance.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues via phone, email, and in-person.
- Install, configure, and deploy computer systems, peripherals, and software applications.
- Assist users with application issues, and guide them in utilizing software effectively.
- Maintain inventory of IT equipment and ensure proper software licensing.
- Document, track, and manage support requests in the help desk ticketing system.
- Provide basic IT training to staff on new technologies.
- Collaborate with senior IT staff on the resolution of more complex issues.
- Assist with IT projects and initiatives as assigned.
- Associate’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred; equivalent work experience will be considered.
- 1-2 years of experience in an IT support or help desk role.
- Basic knowledge of computer hardware, software, and networking.
- Familiarity with Windows OS and Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent communication skills with a strong customer service orientation.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
- Availability to work in the office and assist during emergencies or after hours as needed.
