Black Box Network Services is looking for a Network Infrastructure Technician to install, test and certify structured and patch panel cabling in a data center environment. The candidate will need to have a proven track record in working in a structured cabling environment, installing single and multi-mode optical cabling, inspecting and cleaning installed optical cabling, and testing installed cables using a Fluke Versiv Mainframe.
Requirements
- Working in a structured cabling environment.
- Installing single and multi-mode optical cabling.
- Inspecting and cleaning installed optical cabling.
- Installing copper cable to IEEE and BICSI cabling standards.
- Testing installed cables using a Fluke Versiv Mainframe.
- Decommissioning obsolete networking cabling infrastructure.
- Working with elevated and underfloor cabling trays.
- Assist in troubleshooting network equipment and cabling.
- Patching cabling between network equipment and customer's network.
- Installation of power cables from equipment to power supply in rack/cabinet/closet.
- Installation, troubleshooting and de-installing network equipment.
- Complete all hard and complex Move, Add Change (MAC) requests within the defined service levels.
- Provide infrastructure cabling break-fix services for network infrastructure.
- Perform layer 1 troubleshooting
- Support carrier testing of circuits.
- Assist with facilities efforts.
- Power and uninterruptable power supply (UPS) restoral.
- Water problems.
- Emergency cooling restoration.
- Fire suppression exercises, restoration, and post fire events.
