Job Description
Black Box Network Services is looking for a Network Infrastructure Technician to install, test, and certify structured and patch panel cabling in a data center environment. The candidate must have experience in working in a data center environment, knowledge of structured cabling, and the ability to work safely with high-speed single mode long range optical lasers. The position requires shift work, including nights and weekends.
Requirements
- installing, testing and certifying structured and patch panel cabling in a data center environment
- installing single and multi-mode optical cabling
- inspecting and cleaning installed optical cabling
- installing copper cable to IEEE and BICSI cabling standards
- testing installed cables using a Fluke Versiv Mainframe
- decommissioning obsolete networking cabling infrastructure
- working with elevated and underfloor cabling trays
- assist in troubleshooting network equipment and cabling
