Blue Origin is seeking a Materials & Process Engineer III to support the development and operations of New Glenn, a single-configuration, heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle. The ideal candidate will have expertise in composite materials and processing, particularly high-temperature composites and C/C. The role requires leadership skills, a commitment to quality, and a passion for safe human spaceflight.
Requirements
- B.S. degree or higher in Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or relevant field from ABET accredited school
- 7+ years of demonstrated resourcefulness and execution within complex, rapidly changing production environments
- Strong expertise in composite materials and processing, particularly high-temperature composites and C/C
- Experience with process development and qualification of composite or polymer materials in a production manufacturing environment for use in space
- Project management skills with demonstrated ability to lead technical initiatives from concept proposal through implementation
- Experience with authoring process and material specifications and test reports
- Experience evaluating and troubleshooting processes and equipment, especially for composites
