As a Materials & Process Engineer III at Blue Origin, you will be responsible for the development and operations of New Glenn, a single-configuration, heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle. You will work with cross-functional teams to select materials and manufacturing processes, review drawings, and own material characterization of physical properties and allowables. The role requires a strong understanding of materials and processes used in the aerospace industry, as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Material Science, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Chemical, Aerospace Engineering or relevant field from ABET accredited school.
- 5+ years experience with materials and processes used in the aerospace, other relevant industry.
- Experience with design for manufacturing and engineering drawing review.
- Solid interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to learn, grow and tackle new challenges in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent attention to detail and task ownership, someone who demonstrates pride in all work and willingness to perform low-level tasks when needed.
- Ability to work harmoniously with cross-functional teams across large geographic distances.
