Housekeeper

We are seeking a Housekeeper to maintain the common areas of the South Strand Safe Haven, a 106-bed housing program in lower Manhattan. The successful candidate will be responsible for sweeping, mopping, and dusting common areas, as well as cleaning individual units and assisting with events.

Requirements

• Comparable work experience
• Experience operating of vacuum cleaner, high speed buffer
• Ability to lift and move furniture, appliances, etc.
• High School Diploma, GED, Trade School Diploma, or equivalent
• Ability to stand for several hours during shift and to climb stairs in the event of an emergency
• Experience working with special needs populations a plus
• Basic knowledge of using a computer is a plus, but is not required
