Job Description
The primary responsibility of the Ophthalmic Scribe is to support the physician in the clinical setting by enhancing efficiency and productivity.
Requirements
- Accurately and thoroughly document ophthalmic exams and procedures as performed by the physician
- Record appropriate diagnoses, symptoms, prescriptions, and follow-up instructions as directed by the physician
- Provide patients and/or family members with self-care and follow-up instructions as communicated by the physician
- Coordinate patient scheduling and maintain clinic flow, clearly communicating any delays
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the department manager, facility administrator, or physician(s)
