This position requires professional level accounting work in the areas of accounting, auditing of financial transactions and financial contract administration. The Accounting Supervisor will report directly to the Controller and will work closely with a team of accountants, supervising a team of Staff Accountants. Successful performance of the work requires considerable knowledge of accounting principles as well as GAAP and the ability to exercise sound independent judgment within established guidelines.
Requirements
- Manage accounts receivable accounting staff
- Responsible for corporate monthly close of all corporate cost centers
- Responsible for the maintenance of Brilliant Corners' corporate audit schedules
- Responsible for financial administration of program-based monthly, quarterly, and annual billing and reporting
- Responsible for financial administration of concurrent funding both public and private with various payment methods, compliance and reporting requirements and deadlines
- Extract accounting data to facilitate the timely billing and collection of receivables
- Assist in the financial closeout process of completed projects and ensure that all pending financial issues are resolved, and necessary information is provided
- Prepare reporting on restricted & unrestricted funds for departments, and for management to track the availably and utilization of funds
- Prepare funder invoicing, address funder inquiries, and perform funder invoice analysis
- Support accounts receivable efforts including recording invoicing, deposits, donations, AR aging, write-offs, collection efforts, and cash projections
- Prepare bank reconciliations and perform general ledger reclasses
- Cross train with Payroll, Properties and staff accountants to support as needed
- Other duties as assigned by the Controller
