The Craft Manager leads and coordinates a crew of carpenters and laborers to ensure high-quality, efficient, and safe completion of carpentry-related tasks on construction projects.
Requirements
- Hiring and firing of craft personnel
- Specific job placement with consideration to project needs, employee skillset’s geographic location
- Manage the craft tracker
- Facilitates, orchestrates changes during the Superintendent meetings
- Solely responsible for the manpower requests and communications
- Craft training the “BCI way.”
- Timecard best practices, DTHA’s, near misses
- Review and coordinate PTO requests with the individual/team.

- Participate in reviews, raises and bonus reviews.

- Help with deliveries when needed as support to the warehouse.
- Take lead and facilitate self-perform site fencing installation.
- Lead, direct, and motivate carpentry crew members to meet production goals.
- Assign tasks, monitor progress, and ensure work is completed, on time and according to project plans.
- Communicate effectively with project managers, site supervisors, and subcontractors to coordinate work activities.
- Perform skilled carpentry tasks including measuring, cutting, assembling, and installing wood and other materials according to blueprints and specifications.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and other construction equipment safely and effectively.
- Can train these operations as needed.
- Ensure all carpentry work meets quality, safety, and code requirements.
- Interpret and work from construction drawings, blueprints, and plans.
- Order and manage materials, tools, and supplies as needed for assigned tasks.
- Monitor jobsite safety and enforce compliance with company and OSHA safety standards.
- Identify and address potential hazards or issues before they impact progress.
