Packaging and Transportation Technical Associate

Responsible for work assignments for the Packaging and Transportation Group within the Waste Management and Work Control Division. Provide technical expertise to BNL in determining hazardous material shipping requirements and shipping radioactive materials.

Requirements

• Provide technical expertise and regulatory interpretation for shipping radioactive and hazardous materials.
• Perform packaging and paperwork generation of radioactive materials for shipment.
• Receive and inspect incoming radioactive material shipments from off-site locations.
• Review shipping memo requests issued through the PeopleSoft system for all shipments from BNL.
• Assist in the preparation of work control documentation, technical work documents, job safety analysis, and radiological work permit requests.
