Job Description
Savannah River National Laboratory is seeking a Packaging Engineer to provide support for design, testing and certification of Type B and AF radioactive material packages, and to provide technical support services for Type B and Fissile Radioactive Materials Packaging.
Requirements
- Provide expert technical support services for Type B and Fissile Radioactive Materials Packaging
- Support Packaging development and certification activities
- Understand Nuclear Regulatory Commission regulations and regulatory guides
- Understand Department of Transportation regulations
- Understand DOE Regulations, standards, and orders
- Understand DOE and NRC regulations in 10 CFR 71 for Type B and Type AF packaging
- Gain experience in authority Safety Analysis Reports for Packaging (SARP)
- Run models and calculations for shielding and criticality configurations
