Mechanical Design Engineer

At BWX Technologies, Inc., we are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing system components for high temperature gas reactors and light water reactors. The job is dynamic and requires attention to detail, being a self-starter, and working with a matrixed organization.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline
• A minimum of four (4) years of relevant experience
• Must have experience in nuclear reactor core components, reactor vessel, reactivity control devices, and reactor vessel head components
• Must have a working knowledge of ASME Code, Section III and VIII, specifically
• Must have SolidWorks 3D modeling experience
• Knowledge of GD&T principles and application is required
• Must have general knowledge of project engineering activities (task plans, schedules, etc.)
• Ability to provide clear, concise, accurate and timely written and verbal communication is required
• Must be a strong team player with the ability to develop effective relationships with internal and external customers and suppliers
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced team environment but also have the ability to work independently
