Mechanical Designer (12 Month Contract)

BWXT Nuclear Energy Canada Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Designer for a 12-month contract. The successful candidate will support the technical direction for projects and work closely with the Mechanical Engineering department to design mechanical equipment and systems for CANDU reactors.

Requirements

• Mechanical Engineering Technologist (CET) or equivalent with related mechanical design experience
• Experience with 3D parametric CAD software, preferably with SOLIDWORKS or Autodesk Inventor
• Knowledge of fundamental drafting techniques and practices including GD&T
• Ability to independently create drawings using various software packages
• Knowledge of machining practices and manufacturability constraints
• Must communicate and work effectively with others
• Demonstrated problem solving skills and independent decision-making ability
• Possess strong attention to detail
• Knowledge of engineering change control concepts
• Must be able to multitask and work with minimal supervision
