Produce Specialist

The Produce Specialist will consult, advise, and direct retail customers on best practices to grow market share and increase perishable revenue and profitability. The position will engage decision makers and Independent Retailers to assist with sales and merchandising of Perishable Categories.

Requirements

• Execute quarterly sell programs
• Support Reset Activities, including new store/ red-design set-up
• Provide regular Category Training on new items, merchandising and departmental best practices
• Inform special activities, demand forecasts, product surveys and promotional bookings
• Optimize category assortment and close key category voids in conjunction with Category Management and Merchandising/ Procurement team(s)
• Assist department managers, owners, and/or supervisors with product selection, training on new products and proper merchandising, retails to establish proper gross profits for departments
• Make routed individual store visits to assist retailers in achieving and maintaining a business relationship with the company, including problem solving, negotiating, and development of programs
• Sell special buy programs and the associated merchandising programs
• Inform both the retailer and team of competitive activities both locally and nationally
• Conduct sales of new programs and services; understand and explain the company's programs and services to the retailer's buyers / representatives
