Principal UI Engineer (Boston, MA)

Principal UI Engineer responsible for enhancing and extending Orion’s UI capabilities, working with designers, scientists, and software engineers. Developing cutting-edge features and modernizing existing software. Must be onsite in Boston, MA.

Requirements

• BS in computer science/engineering, biology/chemistry or similar with a minimum of 7 years of experience OR MS with a minimum of 5 years of experience OR PhD with a minimum of 1 year of experience
• Experience designing, developing, troubleshooting and debugging complex user interfaces and software systems as part of a team
• Expert in JavaScript/Typescript/CSS/HTML
• Experience with Vue, Pinia/VueX and application frameworks such as Nuxt.js / Next.js
• Strong background of computer science fundamentals (data structures, algorithms)
• Passionate to learn and explore new technologies and demonstrates good analysis and problem-solving skills
• Interpersonal skills required: ability to establish a close working relationship with peers in development, science, design and customer success, often across time zones
