Job Description
Cala is a company focused on chronic disease treatment and is looking for a Principal Firmware Engineer to design, develop, test, and improve their health products. The role involves working with a product development team, contributing to hardware support, and supporting medical device design controls. This is a leadership position within the team, providing technical mentorship and leading firmware development.
Requirements
- BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering
- 10+ years working in firmware applications for wearables and ultra low-power / small footprint design
- Agile software development within a phase-gated ISO13485 medical device quality system
- Experience with microcontrollers, including ARM Cortex M0, M3, M4
- Experience with display driver development
- Excellent C programming skills and proficiency in Python
- Familiarity with cybersecurity vulnerability identification and penetration testing
