The Unit Technician is a paraprofessional who acts under the direction of a physician, RN, or LPN to provide direct patient care, clerical support and other functions to facilitate patient care.
Requirements
- Assist with management of patient information
- Monitor internal and external alarm systems
- Maintain expertise in internal/external communication systems
- Utilize professional customer service skills
- Collect and document data to support the patient plan of care
- Provide support for patient admissions, transfers and discharges
- Ensure all call lights are answered and consistently participate in safety checks
- Provide for unit organization and cleanliness
- Supportive of family or caregiver involvement in the plan of care
- Actively participates in service area/organization initiatives
