Job Description
The Unit Technician is a paraprofessional who acts under the direction of a physician, RN, or LPN to provide direct patient care, clerical support and other functions to facilitate patient care.
Requirements
- Assist with management of patient information
- Monitor internal and external alarm systems
- Maintain expertise in internal/external communication systems
- Provide support for patient admissions, transfers and discharges
- Provide for and document patients’ hygiene needs
- Ensure all call lights are answered and participate in safety checks
- Provide for unit organization and cleanliness
- Support family or caregiver involvement in the plan of care
- Actively participate in service area/organization initiatives
