TVC - Family Career Advisor (Veterans Services Representative I)

The position of Family Career Advisor (Veterans Services Representative I) is a vital member of the Veterans Employment Services team, providing complex services to meet the needs of veterans and their dependent family members, including employment, training, and placement services. The advisor conducts interviews to assess client needs, disseminates information regarding employment and training programs, and facilitates client access to all workforce development programs and services. The role involves advocating for military and Veteran dependent family members, employment and training opportunities with business, industry, and community-based organizations. Work involves conducting assessments, delivering services, and assisting clients in job search skills and efforts.

Requirements

• Associates degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in social work/social sciences or a related field
• Two years of experience in interviewing, assessment, job placement, retention, and counseling work of job seekers
• General personal computer, Microsoft Windows, and Microsoft Office experience preferred
• Valid Texas Driver’s License required within 90 days of hire
