Carbon Robotics is a cutting-edge company developing innovative agricultural technology, including the LaserWeeder, a robotic system that eliminates weeds with sub-millimeter accuracy. As a Mechanical Engineer, Vehicle Thermal Management Systems, you will play a key role in designing and integrating thermal management systems for our diesel-electric platform and Laser Weeding systems.
Requirements
- 6–15 years of experience designing and validating thermal management systems for automotive, off-highway, agricultural, or heavy equipment applications.
- Proficiency in CAD (SolidWorks) and Ansys CFD or equivalent tools for thermal analysis.
- Deep experience with radiators, oil coolers, charge-air coolers, chillers, pumps, fans, coolant circuits, refrigerant selection rationale and thermal interface materials.
- Experience integrating thermal hardware into vehicles, including packaging, mounting, serviceability, and durability considerations.
- Knowledge of automotive/agricultural durability requirements and validation testing procedures highly desired.
- Familiarity with supplier-provided thermal data, test reports, and performance maps, with the ability to challenge and validate assumptions.
- Highly desired to have past experience as a Responsible Engineer or IPT lead.
- Willingness to travel ~10% of the time to support products in the production & field environments with a demonstrated ability to work directly with internal and external stakeholders/customers
- BS+ in Mechanical Engineering, or related, with focus on machine design, automotive engineering, or related field.
