Job Description
Cardinal Point Captains, Inc. (CPC) is seeking a cook to join their team aboard the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA’s) research vessel, the R/V Lake Guardian. The position involves preparing meals for 20-30 people at sea, with typical operations lasting 150-270 days a year. The cook is responsible for the organization, preparation, and management of provisions for the ship.
Requirements
- Planning and preparing meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
- Knowledge of food chemistry, storage, and preparation.
- Ability to read and understand food labels.
- Maintaining a stocked inventory of provisions and managing costs.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation.
- Teamwork and communication skills.
- Knowledge of food handling, storage and hygiene practices.
